McCormick Insurance Agency joined the WalkerHughes Insurance family in May of 2025. The agency was founded by Don McCormick in 1960 on his farm in southern Knox County. He also managed the local farm mutual at the time, Farmers Home Insurance Company, which was founded in 1895. As the business grew, Don and his sons relocated the office to Vincennes in 1987 at the corner of Washington Street and Weed Lane where it sits today. Don retired in 2010, selling the agency to long-time partners, Doug Steele and Lee Tuggle who have been with the agency for over twenty-five years each.

United Insurance Services, Inc partnered with WalkerHughes Insurance in 2024 to continue their longstanding history proudly serving Knox County and the surrounding communities. United Insurance was founded in 1968 through the merger of Citizens Insurance, Inc, founded in 1903, and Selby and Acker, Inc founded in 1952.

In December of 2025, both Vincennes locations consolidated into our Weed Ln. office creating a more connected local team and allowing us to continue delivering the exceptional service our clients count on. We are thrilled to carry on the legacy of both agencies and for the opportunity to further strengthen our commitment to Knox County and the surrounding community.
